The CorRestore® System

The CorRestore System is intended for all types of cardiac repair and reconstruction, and is especially well suited for the challenges associated with Surgical Ventricular Restoration, SVR.

SVR is an operation for the dilated ventricle following anterior infarction.

SVR with the CorRestore System excludes either akinetic or dyskinetic segments to reduce ventricular volume. Following ventriculotomy, an encircling suture is used to exclude the scarred anteroseptal segment. After tightening the suture, an oval rim is formed with a raised edge. The opening is then closed by using the CorRestore System.

The primary component of the CorRestore System is the CorRestore Patch, a uniquely-designed bovine pericardial implant intended for cardiac repair and reconstruction. The implant, designed with a ridged inner ring, is oval, soft and flexible, and surrounded by a contoured outer rim.

The CorRestore Patch was specifically engineered to fill the irregular contours of the trabeculated endocardium typically seen in infarcted segments following thrombolysis or angioplasty. These features guard against leaking and provide reproducible restoration.
